I would give it four stars before the step sheet change, one star after. I suppose you can get used to it after the change and it is nice to swivel on yeah yeah. But having a choreography with eights shifted 4 counts relative to the music feels really awkward, it's not just about the counting in. Every inch of my dancing body says that a well-written choreography shall start on even eights according to the music. It just feels awkward. If you want to shift the dance 4 counts, it's probably better to put the first 4 counts last and adjust the step sheet accordingly. Still not sure if this would make it feel less awkward, perhaps after some more time considering that I first learned it according to the initial version.

Counting in isn't the problem Pat. I just want to start the dance on the first definite beat "yeah". If I don't it just throws me out of sinc, because I'm feeling the other stronger beat all the way through. Cracking dance though... :-)

If you find the count in difficult then the best way is to count in 5678910 and then you are stepping perfectly on "like", it then phrases with the music and you will be dancing the swivels on the "yeah yeah" section

There's a new script out now Val, saying start on 18. 'Yeah' feels great all the way through for me, but on 18 I'm fighting that natural beat I want to go on all the way though. It just spoils it for me, as I lose my concentration. It's a pity because I love the dance and love the music, but for me, I just can't dance it on that beat.

I was really looking forward to teaching this, as I love the track and the dance. Unfortunately, it feels really uncomfortable for me starting on 18. It's as I've started too soon and I'm dancing on the wrong beat all the time. I feel better coming in on Yeah Yeah..., as it's the more definite beat for starting on. I'm sorry to say I wont be able to teach it, as I lose concentration through wanting to hit the other beat. Sorry..

Another great dance from Pat Stott, which is well worth a teach. Has gone down well on the last couple of teaches, by High Beginners, Improvers & Beyond. This 64/2 has 1 easy restart and has that singalong feel to it!! That's if your like me, over a certain age and remember the Sam & Dave version, This is a great remix by The Overtone!! With an easy teach, easy sections that follows on nicely, from section to section and to top it all, great "Soul" music, this is one to be enjoyed by all Levels!!
